This past weekend, I had the privilege of photographing the Regional Special Olympics Swimming Gala, an event bursting with enthusiasm, big smiles, and camaraderie.
130 athletes came together to meet each other, make friends and race for the gold medal. The Special Olympics commitment to inclusion was on full display and it was so heartwarming to see the look of pure joy on the faces of the athletes as they crossed the finish line. The cheers from the spectators, the high-fives exchanged between competitors, and the hugs shared at the end of each race were reminders of the true meaning of sportsmanship and unity.
